Hintpad has a system to import and export predefined settings.
This is useful for making copies of the games created on the device and being able to copy them to new Hintpads.
Since there is a legacy version of Hintpad, importing from this version has been made compatible in the new Windows Hintpad.
But, due to the different systems used, it is possible that the import of old hintpad legacy exports may fail.
The main cause of import errors is due to media files that cannot be read by windows, that are corrupted or too big. The name of the media file that failed can be seen in the error message.
Even if this error appears, all settings, actions and modifications are transferred, except for the media files affected in the actions.
To fix this is quite simple. Since all the settings have been transfered, the only thing to do now is to replace the media files that are broken or failed to import.
To do this, you can follow this example:
1. Take note of the information that the error message is giving. In this example, this video couldn't being imported since the name of the media was in a font that Windows couldn't read. So the import failed.
2. Since all the other settings were imported correctly, the only thing we need to do is to change the media file that is broken and it is located in one action. To do that, go to the "Actions" tab in the left menu of the Admin Panel.
3. Once in the Action tab, search for the action that contains the name of the broken file.
Even if the media file is corrupted and does not work, it will show the name in the action, so it will be easy to locate it. Then click on "Edit" to see the settings of the action.
4. Go to the "Media" part and delete the broken media file:
5. Now, since the problem in this example was the media file name, correct this in the original media file and upload it again to the action. (If it is not related to the media file name, re-uploading the original media file also works). To do so, click on the "Upload file" button and select the file:
6. Once the uploading process is completed, click on "Save".
Now everything should work correctly, and the media file should display correctly in the game.
